Assignment #20: It's so Surreal! (The Final Photo)

Image
Reflection: The concept behind this picture is that there is always the good in people yet everyone has a dark past so that is shown through the yin yang and the darkness of the eye. I achieved this by taking a picture of my sister's eye in the golden hour and cropped it. Then, I used the brush tool in Photoshop and colored the white of the eye (other than the iris) in black to show that everyone has nobody is perfect and everyone has something going on in their lives. The yin yang in the pupil was so difficult to do that I had my uncle who is an engineer at Cisco to help me for over an hour to get it the way it is now. This was a very difficult assignment and wish I knew some tools ahead of time so I wouldn't need so much help. This photo was inspired by the eye photo in my original ideas, but this shows what every human being is like: good or bad, sad or happy, etc.

Assignment #20: It's so Surreal Ideas/#'s 1-2

Part 1 1. What is the difference between real and surreal? The difference between real and surreal is the way you interpret both ideas. Real is when something exists in real life and everyone can see it. When something is surreal, everyone can have a different interpretation of the photograph, painting, sculpture, etc. but it is so "epic" that they could not imagine doing that piece of art themselves.  2.  What does it mean when, in conversation, someone says, "That's so SURREAL!"?  That's so surreal means realistic, but more out of this world and usually can be fantasized or seen in Disney movies where the animations or special effects make pieces come to life.  Part 2 Created By: Picsure Photography Explanation: This photograph intrigued me because I actually have been interested in doing an eye photograph before and I think this could be an inspiration for my photograph. I was thinking I could do that same type of concept with the trees and sw...

Assignment #18: Aaron Siskind Post

Picture #1: Camera Mode: Manual F-Stop:  f /5.6 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/30 Lens: 55mm Picture #2: Camera Mode: Manual F-Stop:  f /3.5 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/160 Lens: 18mm Reflection:  To start off, I noticed when I was looking at his photos that they were most if not all of them were in black and white. Also, his photos mainly show angles, textures of different kinds such as peeling paint, and some showed symmetry from the different curves and shapes such as the "S" shape shown in some of his not popular photographs. I was inspired to do a tree and trash can photograph(s). I think the tree shows the different textures within in the branches and also shows the "C" shape. For the trashcan, it shows that the paint has been peeled off in some way and showed the "S" shape for the form or composition of the trashcan. In my work, I incorporated the idea of how texture and shapes can play off of each other like how Sis...

Assignment #16: Yo, Paparazzi! Magazine Final Draft

Image
My Inspiration:   My Magazine Cover:  Stories/Features:  1.  Breakfast for Dinner: Even though I was going for the sweet route on the cover, it doesn't necessarily mean there are only sweet things in the magazines, so I would also provide some savory dishes to go along with the breakfast theme! 2.  Quick Breakfast One Pot Meals: This can include cinnamon rolls, egg bakes, crepe cake, etc., just the idea that breakfast can be easy and an easy clean up with the result of a delicious masterpiece! 3.  Contest Winners: I am the Pancake Queen and like the Food Network Magazine actually does contests, so I would have the readers give the Food Network their most creative pancakes to see which one (s) would win (my specialty as shown on the cover are whole grain pancakes!) 4. Breakfast for Dessert: Everyone loves sweets such as pancakes, waffles, sweet crepes, etc. for breakfast, but what if we could make them into dessert casseroles or cak...
