Assignment #4: Composition

Composition: Contrast
ISO: 500
F-Stop: f/8
Shutter Speed: 1/200

This picture was captivating for me because of the green background with the prominent white flowers. The white flowers bring out the brightness and lighting in the picture with the texture of the green leaves. Also the bundle of the four flowers going in different directions gives the audience a new perspective and makes the audience satisfied.

Composition: Leading Lines
ISO: 160
F-Stop: f/11
Shutter Speed: 1/100

This is another one of the my favorites because the overall picture is mostly surrounded by darkness but the little bit of light shines through. The leading lines come from the sun because that "flash" attracts the audience's eye to the little bit of the sunset in the background instead of someone taking a picture of a huge sunset. Also, the colors of the houses have a "reflection" and draws the audience's eyes to the variety of colors shown.

Composition: Alternative Camera Angles
ISO: 100
F-Stop: f/8
Shutter Speed: 1/200

Composition: Diagonals
ISO: 100
F-Stop: f/8
Shutter Speed: 1/200

At first, you may not see the direct diagonals, but the diagonals come from the sky, sunset, and the road. That night, the diagonals are depicted throughout the clouds and come from the curve of the road. Also, this picture shows a little bit of a divide between the dark and light clouds. The darkness of the trees bring out the light in the sunset and is one of the main subjects in this picture.

Composition: Rule of Thirds
ISO: 100
F-Stop: f/8
Shutter Speed: 1/160

  1. Interesting observations - I'd love to see the flowers with a different kind of light on them...
