Assignment #15: Light

Image
Mid-Day (1:30 pm)   ISO: 100 F-Stop: f/14 Shutter Speed: 1/50 Golden Hour (4:30 pm) ISO: 100 F-Stop: f/5 Shutter Speed: 1/40 Sunset (6-7 pm)   ISO: 200 F-Stop: f/4.5 Shutter Speed: 1/80 Reflection Questions:  What was the hardest part of this assignment (related to light), what was the most interesting part?  Which image do you think is the most successful?  The hardest part of this assignment was adjusting the different technical features (ISO, F-stop, etc.) in order to make sure the lighting was just right, not too dark and not too light or "washed out." The first photo was hardest with lighting since it took some time to adjust the awkward lighting but I made it work out in the end! The most interesting part was finding the location and finding the perfect framing to take the picture(s). The image I think was the most successful image was the golden hour photo because I had to do the least adjusting to this photo and the li

Assignment #9: If Photography Is An Art, What About Capturing "Art" As A Photograph?

Image
Commitment and Time This Took: I wanted to let you know that the light sources were different in my picture than the painting and the adjusting of the light source took many tries to get my final result. I adjusted and modified the grey background in my photo to match the grey background in the painting using your trick you suggested to us in class of "match color." I also used the "flasker" tool on Lightroom and used trial and error with the white and black adjustments in the photo to match the painting. I know it isn't an exact match, but this was the very best that I could do.

Assignment #13: TH Posting

Picture #1: The Best ISO: 200 F-Stop: f/5.3 Shutter Speed: 1/400 Explanation: I think this picture is the best because everyone is jumping at the same time. Also, we learned at the beginning of the year that the best ISO for outdoors is 100-200 and the light shines perfectly to form shadows of everyone. The F-Stop allowed all the light to come in and the shutter speed and the continuous snapping feature to capture the moment they jump into the air to the moment they land.  Picture #2: Just Ok ISO: 200 F-Stop: f/5.3 Shutter Speed: 1/320 Explanation: The picture looks kind of grainy and there are moving cars in the background. Also, you can't see their faces clearly and the composition is off. The shutter speed was not fast enough and captured everyone's jump which were all off.  Picture #3: The Worst ISO: 1600 F-Stop: f/8 Shutter Speed: 1/60 Explanation: Teresa had us set our cameras to this setting in the first place and the ISO is in the i
